The public hearing process on the General Plan Update Draft will begin Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 6pm with the Planning Commission. The public hearing will be held at the City Hall Council Room at 20 N. Main Street.
The Commission may, at its discretion, hold additional public meetings to discuss the draft plan. Once the Planning Commission has held the public hearing and considered the draft and any needed edits, they will forward a recommendation to the City Council. The City Council will then hold a public hearing to consider the General Plan Update Draft and recommendation by the Planning Commission. The City Council meeting will be scheduled once the Planning Commission has made its recommendation.

The full closure on Forest Street has been rescheduled to begin Monday, January 6. In addition, the specific closure details have been modified a little bit. The hard closure will now be from 950 West to the east pool entrance. Forest Street will still be "local access only" from 1200 West, but this change means you'll be able to access Forest Street Storage and the Kingdom Hall more easily.

Just a heads up that Spring Sports Registration opens on February 3rd at 8AM. Swim Lessons will open March 3rd @ 8am

Box Elder County CERT will conduct its basic training course beginning February 5. Classes will be held Wednesdays and Saturdays, ending with a simulation drill and test on Saturday, March 15. Sign up at https://boxeldercountycert.org/

Leaf collection in 2025 hasn't been scheduled yet. Our Public Works folks are re-evaluating how they do leaf collection and we'll announce details and dates for that later in the year.

***UPDATE*** We will be replacing the crossarm and cutout on the pole. Because of the wet weather, it will take a while longer to complete this work. Estimated time of restoration is 6 hours.
The Power Department is aware of a power outage in the area of Lindsay Park around Fishburn and Wildwood. Crews are currently working on the outage. We will post an update here just as soon as more information is available.
City offices will close at noon tomorrow (December 24) and will remain closed through Christmas Day. Garbage will be picked up as normal on Tuesday, but Wednesday's pickup will be delayed until Thursday.

Beginning December 15, American Way will close from Forest Street to the entrance of ABC and will remain closed until the overpass project is complete. This is a hard closure, meaning there will be no traffic permitted at all. Those needing to access ABC or Autoliv from American Way can do so by going south from 600 North.
