Here is some of the feedback from parents in Trey's class: "Trey is amazing! He was very adaptable and we had a fantastic experience!" "Trey is great at meeting the kids wherever they are at! He is very encouraging and helps the kids TRY!" "Trey is very involved and is a great instructor! We had a great time with him." Great job Trey! Brigham City Council met for its third budget work session on Thursday, May 29, 2025. The topic during this session was the fleet fund, although there was a brief discussion first about splitting a new Building Inspector position with Perry and how that would be funded. City staff presented various options for funding the fleet fund, which has been drastically impacted by inflation in the last couple years. The options presented included various combinations of property tax increases ranging from 5 percent to 10 percent, a change in the amount of the utility transfer, and increasing anticipated revenue from sales tax, building permit fees, or both. NO INCREASE TO SALES TAX RATES IS BEING CONSIDERED. By law, the city is required to create a balanced budget, and the Mayor's proposed budget was conservative in the anticipated amount of sales tax revenue. This adjustment would simply be increase the total amount they anticipate receiving on the budget document. Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/VtQb3TmTWRw. UPDATE: Plan on the 400 South crossing being closed for the rest of the day as crews respond and an investigation takes place. Main Street will remain closed between 990 South and 1100 South for at least a couple more hours as an earlier incident is cleaned up. IN ADDITION - 400 South is now closed at the railroad crossing due to an incident with a train and a large truck. This means traffic detouring off of Forest Street will need to go to 600 North or SR 13. Please avoid both areas. The incident on 400 South is very recent and it could be many hours before the crossing is open again.
