You may have noticed work high on the hill on the north side of the canyon between Brigham City and Mantua. Crews are replacing the penstock lines, which bring water from Mantua to Brigham City. Sections of the old pipe are more than 50 years old!
The new pipes were delivered earlier this week, and Mayor Bott went to check them out. The 42-inch HDPE pipes will be fused together similar to welding. They will be buried underground, increasing their stability in adverse conditions and in events such as landslides and earthquakes.

We have an update on the Forest Street overpass construction! Trucks and equipment will appear in the construction area by the end of next week, and storm drain work will begin on the south side of Forest Street and will take 4-6 weeks.
At that point, workers will begin on the north side of Forest Street, and American Way will be closed while they complete various storm drain connections and some sewer work.
A full closure of Forest Street is tentatively expected in early January. Once Forest Street closes, it will remain closed until the overpass is completed. Detours will be marked and will generally direct vehicles to 400 South, 600 North, and SR-13.

We have added Kindergarten with the 1st Grade Session for Basketball Skills that starts this Saturday!
