Residents of the community may place their black and green cans (blue recycle cans are not part of this), out the day after their normal garbage collection to receive an extra pickup during the week .
April 14th is the first day of double pickup for those with Friday garbage collection and April 25th is the last day of double pickup for those with Thursday garbage collection.

Just FYI... A statewide TEST of the AMBER Alert system will take place this afternoon (Thursday, April 3) sometime between 4:00 and 4:30 p.m. The test is part of an upgrade to align the system with national standards and verify its integration with FEMA's Emergency Alert System (EAS).
* A TEST AMBER Alert notification will be sent to mobile devices, TV, radio, and highway message boards statewide.
* The alert will include a distinct tone and vibration on mobile devices, similar to a real AMBER Alert.
* The message will clearly state that this is a TEST and that no action is required.
Testing ensures that in the event of a real emergency, alerts will be delivered without issue.

City Pride Cleanup starts tomorrow and ends April 11! See https://www.bcutah.gov/o/brighamcity/page/seasonal-garbage-and-leaf-collection-programs for information.

NOT an April Fool's joke... the official groundbreaking for the overpass will take place at 11am today. The public is invited to attend. Dress warm and park in the Pioneer Park lot near the pool. We'll hear remarks from a couple local officials, and refreshments will be served.

Residents along Box Elder Creek may notice it running higher than it has been, even though we aren't experiencing runoff yet. Public Works crews are drawing Mantua Reservoir down even further due to recent increases in snowpack water, and that is allowing our power department to run the hydropower generators at full capacity.
After the water has been used to generate power, it is sent down the creek, which results in higher water levels than you might have been seeing. This will continue at least until runoff begins, at which time conditions will be evaluated and generation will be adjusted accordingly.
