In last week's city council meeting, there was a discussion about whether and how to move forward with building additional gym space in the city to help address the declining gym space available for our recreation programs.
First thing to understand: this is NOT a full recreation center. It's two full-size basketball courts, also striped for volleyball and pickleball.
Second thing to understand: it won't require a tax increase or bond to build the facility. The mayor plans to fund construction with the regular budget.
The council spent most of the meeting discussing it. We appreciate residents who attend these meetings and share information with the public and we encourage even more of you to come.
