Emergency Preparedness
The responsibility for preparedness and response lies first with individual citizens and families, second with private industry and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and third with Brigham City.
An unforeseen emergency, disaster, or catastrophic event may occur with little or no warning. Response capabilities of Brigham City and affected local jurisdictions may become overwhelmed. Citizens should be prepared to provide for their own needs during the first 96 hours of a disaster event.
For information on how to prepare for emergencies, see ready.gov (↗) and be.ready.utah.gov (↗).
Emergency Notification System
Brigham City will use a variety of communications channels in the event of an emergency.
Everbridge
Sign up for Everbridge, the notification system used by Box Elder County (↗)
Sign up for Brigham City's notification system (↗). We also use Everbridge, but signing up for Brigham City's will give you the option to receive notifications about road closures, Public Works reminders like double trash pickup, and general City announcements.
We encourage you to sign up for both.
Brigham City App
The Brigham City app is an important source of information about news and events all the time, not just in emergency situations.
