Some of our departments have opportunities for volunteers as young as age 12. All volunteers need to have a background check.
Step One: You must fill out the Volunteer Application and the Right of Access Volunteer Form (available here as a fillable pdf or blank forms available at the Police Department). DO NOT SIGN THE FORM until you are in the presence of a Brigham City Police Department employee and can show valid photo ID.
Deliver the form to the Brigham City Police Department. Show the employee your photo ID and sign the form in their presence.
Brigham City Police Department is located on the first floor of City Hall at 20 N. Main Street, and is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There is no fee for the application or background check.
Step Two: Wait for your background check to be returned. This process generally takes less than 24 hours. The Police Department will forward the results to Human Resources, who will confirm that everything is in order and enter your name into our approved volunteer database. Your chosen department(s) can then contact you when a volunteer opportunity arises, or you can contact them to schedule volunteer time. Some departments may ask you to fill out an additional form to indicate your availability.
